WWDC 2023: 9 Big & Little Things | Apple

WWDC 2023 was an online event, but select developers, students, and members of the media were invited to Apple Park to watch the keynote and State of the Union presentation and meet with other attendees and Apple employees.

Apple provides developers with a first look at new iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and tvOS updates, as well as the ability to interact with Apple engineers via engineering sessions, one-on-one lab visits, and the Apple Developer Forums. Students are also encouraged to compete in the yearly Swift Student Challenge for prizes and the opportunity to visit Apple Park.

Apple hosts a keynote presentation to announce new software and occasionally new hardware to kick off the Worldwide Developers Conference annually. We should anticipate iOS 17, iPadOS 17, macOS 14, tvOS 17, and watchOS 10, as well as Apple’s long-rumored AR/VR headset to be unveiled during this event.

Here Is Everything You Need to Know About Wwdc 2023

Apple Vision Pro: At $3,499, Apple’s mixed reality headset isn’t likely to end up on everyone’s head, but it’s an intriguing introduction to the field of augmented reality. While the headgear lets you immerse yourself in a virtual world and watch movies on a big virtual screen, you can also view the world around you by twirling a digital crown.

The Vision Pro is powered by the new visionOS software, and you can operate it with gestures, voice commands, and eye-tracking. A separate battery pack powers the gadget while keeping the Apple Vision Pro light on your head.

MacBook Air 15-inch: Apple has decided to release a larger-screen version of its popular Air laptop in WWDC 2023. The design is identical to current MacBook Air versions, but the display is bigger at 15.3 inches. Apple claims that this is the thinnest 15-inch laptop available, with a thickness of 11.5mm and a weight of 3.3 pounds. The 15-inch MacBook Air, which starts at $1,299, is available in four different finishes and is powered by an M2 processor.

Mac Studio: This desktop’s second version has been enhanced to work on your choice of an M2 Max or M2 Ultra processor. The latter is a new addition to the M2 family, with 24 CPU cores and up to 76 GPU cores. The Mac Studio retains the original’s $1,999 starting price while improving the HDMI connection.

Mac Pro: The Mac Pro desktop is the final Mac to get Apple silicon, ending Apple’s departure from Intel CPUs. It is powered by the M2 Ultra processor and has an additional connection – there are eight built-in Thunderbolt ports, which is double the quantity on the previous Mac Pro. Apple’s desktop also has six expansion slots available. The base pricing for the Mac Pro is $6,999.

iOS 17: This year’s iPhone software upgrade isn’t as substantial as previous years, but there are some notable changes in iOS 17. A new Journal app asks you to write your thoughts and feelings, and a Standby function transforms your iPhone into a smart screen. The Phone, Message, and FaceTime applications all get significant updates, while the Health app gets a mental health focus.

iPadOS 17: The improvements shown in iOS 17 are also finding their way to the iPad, which is integrating some of the greatest features of iOS 16 for Apple’s tablets. You’ll be able to modify your lock screen and add widgets with iPadOS 17. What’s more, the widgets are interactive. The Health app is also coming to the iPad, and the Notes app will be able to edit PDFs.

MacOS Sonoma: The official name of macOS 14 is now known. We also know that the next Mac software will allow you to drag widgets from the notification area. In addition, FaceTime will have video effects, Safari will get user profiles, and a Game Mode should boost Mac gaming.

WatchOS 10: Widgets are being used to rethink how you interact with the Apple Watch OS. Turning the watch’s digital crown reveals a clever stack of widgets displaying information such as activity, weather, and more. A long press adds a widget to the stack. Furthermore, the Health app is receiving a mental health focus by allowing you to track your mood in the Mindfulness app.

TvOS 17: If you expected a minor tvOS update, you were in for a surprise in WWDC 2023. FaceTime functionality has been added to the Apple TV firmware, allowing you to transport FaceTime discussions from your iPhone or iPad to the big screen. A redesigned control center and the ability to discover your remote from your phone are other new features.
